About Samuel Titterington:
I'm Samuel Titterington, and I have a pretty diverse background in tech, hospitality, and community management. I'm really passionate about using technology and innovation to make life easier and more fun. I enjoy solving problems and have a good grasp of tech, which comes in handy in various situations.
I speak Spanish, English, and French fluently, and I know a bit of Danish. My communication skills have been a big asset in my career. On the technical side, I've got qualifications in electrical installation, computer hardware maintenance, and web development. I’ve done hardware and software maintenance work independently in Bogota, which gave me a lot of hands-on experience.
I’ve also worked in hospitality, starting as a bartender and quickly moving up to a bar supervisor, and I’ve managed a hostel in Colombia. These roles helped me develop strong leadership and adaptability skills. Outside of work, I love building DIY projects, biking, and learning about urbanism. I think my mix of skills and interests makes me a versatile and dynamic person to work with.
Experience
I began my career in hospitality, managing reception operations at a top-rated hostel in Colombia from 2018 to 2019. This role involved handling reservations, payments, and organizing staff schedules. After that, I worked independently in Bogota from 2019 to 2021, focusing on hardware and software maintenance. I gained extensive experience in computer repairs, part replacements, and malware removal.
In 2021, I transitioned to a role at Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes in London, starting as a bartender and quickly moving up to bar supervisor. There, I managed bar operations, finances, and stock levels until 2022. Following this, I worked as a waiter at Cafe Boheme in London from 2022 to 2023, where I managed a busy section, overseeing orders and reservations while maintaining the restaurant's high reputation.
Education
I began my educational journey with a Woodwork Course at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Santo Domingo, where I studied from 2017 to 2018. This course equipped me with skills in wood joinery, safety regulations, and the professional use of heavy machinery. From 2020 to 2021, I attended the Instituto Técnico de Capacitación, focusing on hardware and software maintenance. Here, I gained knowledge in computer components and parts replacement.
In 2021, I took a Web Development Course at Le Wagon, where I learned object-oriented programming, MVC programming, and app building. Most recently, I completed an Essential Electrical Course at Access Training from 2023 to 2024, earning several Level 3 qualifications in electrical installations, portable appliance testing, and safety compliance. This diverse educational background has provided me with a solid foundation in both technical and practical skills.
