About Sanna Malik:

I have recently successfully completed my MSc in Medical Biotechnology and Business Management at the University of Warwick and a BEng in Chemical Engineering. The masters itself has sparked a deep-seated interest in consulting for life science and healthcare companies and has henceforth become my chosen career option.

A desire to make a positive impact is one of my key motivations when applying for a role, Vista Health is able to advise on the strategy of life-changing therapies and empower better decisions to create long-term value for patients which I hope to contribute to and be a part of. What attracts me most to life-science consulting is its primary focus of delivering better outcomes for patients in a way that optimises commercial and societal value to all stakeholders involved. Working for Vista Health will not only provide me with career advancement opportunities, but also the opportunity to network with a diverse group of professionals and gain experience in a variety of industries, as well as to continuously learn and adapt to new situations, technologies, and industries. It would also allow me to engage with diverse clients and understand their unique difficulties, which will be an excellent opportunity for me to build a broad business perspective.

My education has provided me with an extensive set of skills that would help me to succeed in a career in life-science consulting. My MSc allowed me to research and analyse markets for medical product development and propose technical strategies based on current information and cutting-edge diagnostic technology. Furthermore, I can appraise and analyse financial and business implications in a global context as well as recognise and manage the inherent problems in medical biotechnology and pharmaceutical business development and propose and present solutions in oral-based presentations and reports. Offering successful solutions ensured that I kept up to date with the pharma-biotech industry and their key clients with their respective end-of-year reports and current medical journals. The use of AI in the pharma-biotech industry has become essential to fostering innovation within this field thus, my thesis was pertinent to discuss the effects in precision medicine and analyse its economic utility in the industry. My bachelors in chemical engineering provided me with the necessary analytical and problem-solving skills to design, develop, and optimize chemical processes using mathematical models including processing and interpreting data from experiments and simulations.

Consulting is a people driven business, having a broad background that centres around customer services has given me expertise skills to understand the client’s needs, challenges and priorities. Working for a hospitality agency I have been able to collaborate, build and maintain a strong rapport with clients and customers alike. Furthermore, each client required new skills to learn thus it was vital to have high levels of adaptability and the ability to multitask in a high-pressured environment in organised and focused manner as well as having the capability to be proactive and take initiative to solve problems to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction. Volunteering for the Human Appeal humanitarian leadership programme gave me the necessary leadership and teamwork skills that would allow me to thrive at Vista Health. Leading a team of volunteers to effectively meet and exceed their fundraising targets means I was able to offer engaging workshops that inspired and motivated them through clear communication and working toward a shared goal, resulting in excellent outputs.

I am a highly motivated and dedicated individual and believe that I can actively contribute to your business. With this role at Vista Health, I would be able to successfully support management with analysis, reports and deliverables as well as work on internal initiatives to grow  Vista Health’s presence in the market alongside the expected client work.
