About myself
Hi my name is Sarah Jane, also known as SJ by some of my friends.  I am 48 years old and live in Kingswood.  I have two children who are my world and I enjoy family time with them when I am not working.

I am outgoing and have a bubbly personality.  I am a people person and get on with anyone I meet.  I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends.  I am very chatty and can easily make conversation.

I have various interests and hobbies. I enjoy my family time getting out and about in the fresh air whether for a walk, going to community events such as fayres or general retail therapy with my children. 

I enjoy listening to music which is my form of relaxation or sometimes relax with meditation.  I play piano and am teaching myself acoustic guitar. Singing and dancing is also a hobby I thoroughly enjoy for relaxation and fun.

I love learning and gaining more knowledge as I feel it helps keep my mind active and another form of relaxation.  I have bought a writing desk which is my go to place to switch off where i self study various subjects.  At the moment I am studying paramedic science, psychology, medicine and criminology.

Myself and my children are very creative.  When out and about in the fresh air I sometimes take the opportunity to do some of my photography work whether taking a image of a beautiful landscape or a old ruin.  I also draw and many of my sketches are framed and displayed in my family home taking pride of place.

I love cooking and trying out new recipes or any recipe ideas that are thrown my way.  I enjoy cleaning and keeping the home clean and tidy.  I have always been a doer and get on with the job I am given to do.


 

My Job Experience
My career as always been in office, administration and secretarial work which I have 29 years experience.  I have excellent customer service skills and am use to working to tight deadlines.  I can prioritise my workload and can be flexible in my duties with any work given to me.

I have worked for many organisations such as the NHS working as a Medical Secretary for a Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychologist, in a GP Practice as a Patient Care Co-Ordinator and Private Income Secretary.  Both of these jobs have helped me gain experience of medical terminology and understanding medication.  They have also help me gain experience of how to deal with mental health and challenging behaviour.

Like in so many companies there is a high level of training.  I have certification in many subjects where I completed online and practical training in basic life support, first aid, health and safety at work, safeguarding in adults and children and many more.

Care Work Experience
I have only a little experience of care work.

I have mainly cared for my parents which was the reason I gave up office work. There came a time in their life when they needed extra help around the house with general household tasks, shopping, medication and taking to appointments.

My Mother is now in a Care Home and my Father now has more experienced carers coming in.  

i am now looking to get back out working but rather than go back to office work I would really like to carry on with care work which I absolutely enjoy.

RSA Typing - Levels 1, 2 and 3

RSA Shorthand Speed and Transcription at 60 word per minute
