Sarah Thompson

Hello, I’m Sarah Thompson. I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist who is passionate about mental health, well-being, and supporting people through life’s challenges.

My journey in mental health and health and social care began in 2005, and over the past 15 years, I’ve been fortunate to work across a wide range of settings, including the NHS, substance misuse services, schools, colleges, and charitable organisations. I hold a BA Honours degree in Health and Social Care, alongside Diplomas in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I’m committed to continually developing my practice.

In addition to my clinical work, I also sit as a Board Director/Trustee for leading charities in the health sector, contributing to the strategic direction and governance of organisations dedicated to improving access to care and promoting community mental health and have a vast range of experience working with different mental health presentations. 

In private practice, I have had the privilege of working with children, young people, and adults from different backgrounds, both here in the UK and internationally.

At the heart of my work is guiding clients to make positive and meaningful changes at their own time and pace. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel heard, valued, respected, and empowered. Together, we’ll work to help you better understand your emotions, strengthen your coping skills, and move forward with confidence, happiness, and clarity.
