About Sasha Asiedu:
I am an experienced and dedicated Mathematics teacher with a strong background in teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. Throughout my career, I have successfully raised attainment through data-driven interventions, curriculum development, and personalised learning strategies. Beyond the classroom, I have taken on key pastoral leadership roles, such as Progress Leader for Year 7 and Year 11, supporting students' academic and emotional development. I have also led whole-school initiatives like the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge, Urban Debaters programme, and the Student Ambassador programme, promoting student confidence, leadership, and oracy skills. As Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, I worked collaboratively with staff and external agencies to enhance student welfare. My approach is always centred on building an inclusive, supportive, and high-achieving environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.
Experience
Throughout my teaching career, I’ve consistently worked to raise attainment, build student confidence, and contribute meaningfully to school improvement. My experience spans 13 years, during which I’ve taught mathematics across KS3–5, supported departmental development, and taken on both academic and pastoral leadership roles.
At St. Martin’s, I played a key role in raising attainment across the maths department. I introduced Hegarty Maths, implemented effective revision strategies, and developed a maths ambassador programme to foster peer-led learning. As Progress Leader for both Year 7 and Year 11, I’ve successfully led cohorts through critical transition points, building strong relationships, improving attendance, and supporting wellbeing through targeted initiatives.
In addition to teaching, I’ve led assessment and feedback strategies across my department, promoted self-reflection in students, and worked with SLT to build a more responsive and accountable learning culture. My role as Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, alongside my work as an Attendance Officer, has helped me take a more holistic view of student progress, supporting not only academic outcomes, but also emotional development and engagement.
Completing my NPQSL has strengthened my ability to lead strategically and evaluate impact across the school. I’m confident working with data, leading change, and building systems that support both staff and students.
I’m passionate about delivering high-quality teaching, driving progress, and supporting the whole child. I believe I can bring commitment, experience, and fresh energy to your school community and I’m excited by the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impact.
Education
Completing my NPQSL has significantly strengthened my leadership skills and deepened my understanding of strategic school improvement. I gained valuable insights into leading whole school initiatives, driving data informed change, and building strong supportive teams. The course helped me refine my ability to develop a clear vision, manage resources effectively, and ensure that all decisions are focused on improving student outcomes. I also learned the importance of sustaining a positive school culture where staff and students can thrive. Overall, the NPQSL has equipped me with the tools and confidence to lead with impact and integrity.
