With nearly 4 years experience within the industry I have worked with a variety of patients, particularly focusing on children with SEN and creating a better experience for them. I am passionate about delivering high quality care to each and every patient as well as looking at the bigger picture, I am all for change, changing the way we work to ensure we create a more inclusive experience for all.

Undertaking management and care for patients of all ages.

Communicate and determine the correct diagnosis and subsequent management plan on a case-by-case basis alongside doctors and optometrists.
Undertaking investigations of individuals with disabilities, special needs and learning difficulties.
Liaise with patients’ GPs, opticians and any other discipline to discuss their situation (discharge letters, prim incorporation).
Undertake investigation of patients who arrive in clinic on an emergency basis including elderly and vulnerable patients.
Co-lead the SEN service and helping with setting up clinics, developing the service and liaising and contacting schools.
Help in the eye A&E seeing emergency patients, triaging them and communicating with the patient’s doctors, optometrists in a high-pressure environment where time is important.
Working alongside strong-willed consultants and having to use good communication and conflict resolution techniques.
Manage the preceptorship of a new starter to the trust, helping develop their skills whilst providing support and supervision. Reporting their progress to my line manager and having quarterly progress meetings.
Undertake clinical supervision of students, helping teach and guide them.
Encompasses all clinical and communicative/leadership aspects of previous jobs.
Undertake management of highly specialist neuro ophthalmological patients and send them for further testing
Act as a guide to my junior colleagues, helping clinically and professionally
Perform OCT testing along with visual field testing in patients with advanced eye conditions
Management of patient clinical appointments and flow of clinics
Investigation and management of A&E patients sending them for extra testing where necessary
Implementing improvements to the department via research proposals
