By hiring myself – as a sociology graduate – you would be guaranteed skills in research, writing reports of findings, project/risk management, chairing meetings around legislation compliance as well as a good scope of first-hand experiences working with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities. These are all factors which make the right candidate for this role, however one thing I feel makes me stand out from the rest of your pool of candidates would be the fact that I implement social change and equality within everything I do. I have a can-do attitude, I'm open to criticism and debates around topics, I love to educate people about differences and variances in way of life and I also know how to support these arguments with contemporary rationale. Evidence would be in my involvement with local programmes and workshops running in my area - one of those looking into racial injustice (facilitated by Kiondo and funded by near neighbours). This workshop invited the local community of Walsall to discuss topics around race so we could have a better understanding of what people's thoughts were and what was required of future workshops to continuously improve accessibility.
