I am a hardworking, reliable and motived person with a strong childcare background
especially working with children with additional needs. I have just left college after
completing 4 years in childcare. My last year was a HNC in Childhood Practice for which
I am awaiting graduation.

Flexible childcare Scotland, Banff
Childcare Practitioner- 04/2022 to current
 I have been a seasonal SSSC registered Childcare Practitioner for just over 2
years, employed by Flexible Childcare Scotland. This is respite care for children
between the ages of 5-18 years old who have additional support needs. Currently
I work on Saturdays and through some of the holidays. Working in Flexible
Childcare has enabled me to gain experience in working with children with
additional needs. I have had access to training through Aldo, Mentor and Azilo
including child protection, food hygiene, paediatric first aid, epilepsy training
and many more. My role is to look after the children: Playing, baking/cooking,
outdoor activities including walks to the park and teaching basic hygiene and
daily routines. I have experience with writing care plans and risk assessments.
This job has been influential in teaching me the importance of team working. I
have gained an understanding of the different types of additional support needs
and the different ways to communicate with individual children ensuring that
they are listened to and respected.
