Hi 

At present I am buying for two garden centres, however this is soon to be three with an acquisition in the wings.

I currently source all products for 2/3 garden centres including plant stock, giftware, some clothing lines, furniture (visiting Spoga as well as Solex) and garden sundries accountability. I regularly visit plant trade shows and nurseries in the UK as well as those in Italy and Holland.

As an independent company we are able to respond to the latest trends and competitors’ strategies, and  whilst not deviating away from our policy of providing good value for money and revenue generation we strive to offer the unusual which engages our sales team and our discerning customers.

My previous experience has taken me from leading large garden centres with a turnover of over £7 million and 50 staff members in independent and blue-chip companies where standards, audit, health and safety compliance, KPIs and service levels are key to success, to project managing for the Duchy of Cornwall where strategy, sustainability, the environment and social integrity are balanced with income for the estate.

I have identified that I am constantly curious and have therefore simultaneously taken my professionalism forwards by involving myself in courses to widen my leadership skills. These have been delivered by Tesco Bank and Aviva Insurance, both of which have honed my coaching and audit understanding. Most recently I achieved an MBA at Warwick Business School, to equip me with the strategic tools for the current economic climate.
