Dear Sir/madam,

Upon completing the GCE Ordinary Level Examination in 2003 and 2004, I sat for the GCE Advanced Level examination in 2007 qualifying to enter the University. Having entered the Bachelor's degree program in Visual Arts (Special) at the University of The Visual and Per-forming Arts, Colombo, I successfully completed four years of coursework which covered a diverse number of subjects including Advance Graphic Design, Advance Illustration, Pho-toshop, Maya 3D Max, Typography, Packaging Design, Sculpture, Painting and Textile and Wearable Arts. I graduated from the University in the year 2014, securing second-class upper-division honours and a GPA of 3.5. 

Soon after leaving University, I got hired by TBWA \ Sri Lanka, a large international ad agency network where I worked for four years as a Junior Art Director. The wealth of experience I gathered while working closely with Senior Art Directors and award-winning Creative Direc-tors paved the way to becoming an Art Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, Colombo in year 2019. Having completed a 2-year stint at Saatchi & Saatchi, I moved to Wunderman Thompson in year 2021.

I have worked as a Senior Art Director contributing to the creative team at Wunderman Thomp-son with visual conceptualising, creating and producing advertising campaigns to achieve brand objectives. 

Apart from working as a creative, I am a Visiting Lecturer at the University of The Visual and Performing Arts since 2021. This teaching position has enabled me to bestow all the knowledge I’ve gathered in the past years on upcoming young graduates; equip them with the best skills to take the design industry in Sri Lanka to the next level. 

My illustration skills naturally took me to the newspapers where I worked as a Freelance Car-toonist for two leading national newspapers, Silumina and Resa. I’ve been creating the highly popular weekly political cartoon since May 2018. In March 2022, I was awarded the Cartoonist of the Year title at Sri Lanka Journalism Awards for Excellence.
