As a recent graduate with an accredited honours degree in Biomedical Science from London Metropolitan University, I am immensely proud of the knowledge and skills I have gained during my studies. My passion for the field of biomedical science developed from a young age, and I have worked hard to achieve my goal of obtaining a degree in this discipline.

Throughout my studies, I have been able to develop a wide range of skills that will enable me to thrive in a professional setting. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in scientific theory, and I have had the opportunity to apply this knowledge to real-world situations through laboratory work and assignments. I have also honed my critical thinking and analytical skills, which will be essential in the day-to-day tasks of working in the biomedical field.

I am excited about the prospect of pursuing a career in biomedical science, as I believe that this field has the potential to make difference not only in people's lives but also how we decide to live our lives.  I also feel that due to advances in technology right now is a very exciting time to be in the field. I am particularly interested in the areas of medical research and drug development, and I am eager to contribute to the development of innovative treatments and therapies.

One of the reasons I was drawn to London Metropolitan University was the emphasis placed on practical, hands-on learning. This has allowed me to gain experience working with a variety of sophisticated laboratory equipment and techniques, giving me the confidence and skills needed to succeed in a professional setting.

Looking to the future, I am eager to learn and grow as a professional in the field of biomedical science. I am committed to staying up to date with the latest research and technology, and I am looking forward to contributing to the ongoing advancement of this exciting and dynamic field.

In conclusion, I am confident that my degree from London Metropolitan University has prepared me well for a fulfilling and rewarding career in biomedical science. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and am ready to use my skills and knowledge to make a difference in the world.

I have worked in a variety of work places during my time at university including catering, being a barista, to logistic and sales. Furthermore, during my laboratory sessions over the 4 years of my degree I have worked on sample preparation, quality control techniques, and participated in laboratory meetings to discuss experimental results.

At the same time, I possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, which enable me to work independently or as a team player, as well as handle troubleshooting and data analysis with ease. I am committed to staying up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field of Biomedical Sciences.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

Research based dissertation: What effect does the oral and gut microbiome have on female hormones?

Research was based on secondary evidence in the form or animal studies and human studies. 

Analysed experimental data and created graphical representations to present findings.

LABORATORY EXPERIENCE:

Experience in laboratory techniques including PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA sequencing, cell culture, and ELISA

Conducted experiments and analysed samples as part of laboratory projects.

Participated in various laboratory experiments such as Cell Culture and Flow Cytometry Assisted with data analysis and presentation of results
Assisted in the calibration of laboratory instruments.

Organised and kept lab records updated.

Followed strict safety protocols and regulations.
