Soma Rashed

I am a current first year pharmacy student wanting to help out in a pharmacy in order to gain experience through working and developing skills useful for my future. I have worked in patient care jobs such as specsavers and also worked in sales which helped me master my communication skills and gained a fast work ethic. I am passionate in pharmacy and how medication work and therefore would love to work in a pharmacy setting.

I first worked as a waitress where I catered to the public and their needs within a fast pace restaurant setting helping me with pace and stress whilst maintaining a great work ethic. I then started working at a sales company where I promoted their merch and that helped gain communication skills and persuasive skills. I later joined a dessert shop where I learnt team work skills and helped to build a strong bond in order to run the shop smoothly. I was offered the opportunity to work at specsavers as an optical assistant where I ran OCT scans, field tests etc on patients and handed them in to the optometrists. This job gave me a huge insight to the medical field where I learnt the importance of patient care, duty of care, privacy of patients and most importantly, their health. 

I completed BTEC science with D*D at Finham Park School and now I am in first year of university studying an integrated masters&BSc degree in pharmacy at De Montfort University.
