Stacey Smith

I have 13 years experience in L&D and I am passionate about cultivating an inclusive culture, where people progression, development and growth is at the forefront of any organisation. I believe  Learning and Development is the key to healthy leadership which creates positive working environments, and protects business attrition. In my many years experience I have been responsible for creating leadership programmes that have transformed organisations cultures and performance. I have managed and developed aspiring leaders offering them mentorship and guidance throughout their progression journey. My strategic approach allows me to utilise the learning cycle, to fulfill training needs and offer support to internal and external stakeholder. Networking and partnering is a key strength I posses, which proves useful when looking to strengthen external relationships and connections.  

I began my people operations journey in recruitment, I started as a talent acquisition consultant for an energy firm where I managed a desk of around 65 hiring managers 3 resourcing staff that reported directly to me. After many successful years managing this desk I decided I wanted to utilise my degree in teaching and learning so I decided to move over to learning and development. 

I started with various training providers where I managed the apprenticeship and traineeship levy for South Tyneside council through training partners. I Managed the design, recruitment, learning delivery, progression and payment and training contracts from the council. once the funding from the European social fund was cut I moved on to Sky. 
I managed the full learning cycle for Sky commercial services from advisor level to exec team. I created and managed the stepping into leadership program for sky business and project managed the implementation of new products and services, my team where responsible for training the entire site of new products and services and legislation changes. 

after sky I moved to Northumbria Police, this is where I am currently working. I manage and lead on the stage three leadership development programme which has a target audience of around 359 inspectors and chief inspector. I designed the programme and managed the implementation of it and review. I have recently achieved license to run this program independently from the college of course policing and I am currently working on a new to rank programme which will support newly promoted officers. I deliver as part of the womans network to the force and serve as a mentor and force coach for development. 
I sit on the work based assessment board of promotion and QA portfolio submission for rank promotion. I support the organisation with recruitment and job profiling and regularly attend external networking events looking for development and growth opportunities. 

I hold an LLB Law degree and I am a qualified paralegal 

I am level 6 qualified in Learning and development, specialising in adult learning. 

I hold a level 3 certification for coaching and mentoring.
