I can interact with people/service users from all walks of life and make them feel comfortable/at ease in any setting. I also have very good experience in managing or motivating small groups of people in stressful environments, which can be proven in my role as a phlebotomist, drawing blood from people with different health needs. As well as my role as a Housing Support Officer, working with Unaccompanied Minors and LAC. Also, I can work with diverse community groups. I can build stronger communities and advocate change in society.
Experience
I worked for Guys and St Thomas' Hospital as a Phlebotomist. My role was to draw blood from patients through venipuncture. Take the blood samples to the laboratory which is checked for health issues.
I also worked with Looked After Children (LAC) and Unaccompanied Minors in a supported housing scheme at Centrepoint as a Housing Support Officer. My job role involves working with other agencies such as social workers, police, health etc. to ensure that young persons are safeguarded, their basic needs are being met and making sure they are making a positive contribution to society.
I also assisted people with learning difficulties and vulnerable adults with personal care, collecting pensions, paying bills, shopping and helping with laundry, carrying out duties by the Personal Service User plan (care plan), helping service users who have mobility problems and other disabilities, including incontinence issues recording and taking part in staff and service users’ meetings and training activities as directed, encouraging service users to live independently and communicating effectively with service users, carers and other professionals
