Proficient in using child centered approaches to address emotional, physical and psychological challenges from adverse childhood experiences. Adept at working collaboratively with families, schools and multidisciplinary teams to promote the wellbeing of the children I work with. I am Passionate about creating a safe nurturing environment and therapeutic relationship to empower children to express themselves, process and create new coping strategies they can use for years to come after their work with myself

-Conducted Play therapy sessions over a 4-year period, with all
clients showing improvements in their emotional wellbeing.
-Assessed emotional and behavioral issues through observation,
Interaction, parent/teacher interviews.
-Developed and implemented play therapy plans to support children
with complex trauma, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, attachment issues
and bereavement.
-Engaged with Parents/caregivers throughout therapy when needed to
provide guidance and therapeutic strategies I felt would benefit the
children.
-Maintained accurate and ethical noted in accordance with GDPR
guidelines. Provided end reports and safeguarding reports when
needed.
-actively collaborated with teachers, safeguarding leads, parents, TAF
and multidisciplinary team to create a holistic approach to all
children in my care.

Shepherd
Working as a bereavement support worker provided me with
invaluable experience that directly impacted my future therapeutic
work. Supporting children through grief and loss builds emotional
intelligence, therapeutic conversation and resilience
.
-Deeping emotional intelligence and empathy Supporting grieving
children requires sensitivity, patience and the ability to understand
complex emotions.
-Managing difficult conversations discussing death, loss and trauma
requires confidence in handling sensitive topics.
-Supporting individuals with different coping skills- grief manifests in
different ways this experience highlighted the fact that mental health
support must be a holistic approach to all children.
-Crisis intervention and emotional regulation, I often dealt with
individuals experiencing overwhelming emotions and having to
implement emotional regulation skills to de-escalate and de-stress the
children within the group.
