Stephen Semmens
Education / Training
About Stephen Semmens:
Over the past 6 years in my current role I have been proud of what I have achieved in terms of developing the school’s science department. I am a well-respected and liked individual by staff, governors, parents and students.
The science departments attainment in GCSE’s over the last 6 years has gone from strength to strength, posting some of the best results across Leeds (and indeed nationally). This is something I have been very proud to be a part of, and would continue to do so, but feel I need a fresh challenge and the opportunity to be part of a bigger school.
Furthermore, I have experience working abroad for many years, across a variety of careers, and enjoy diving into new cultures and broadening my own life experiences (I lived and worked in Germany for 6 years and the middle east for 4 years). I am currently learning Spanish on a daily basis, albeit at a steady rate, and would be delighted to get to grips with the language should I come to live and work in Spain.
In terms of my personality, I am a warm, friendly character that is liked by most. At the same time, I carry quite a lot of gravitas and can lead from the front where necessary.
My extensive working life of 34 years across several successful careers and countries, has made a rather colourful and interesting character who is fun to be around, and is well respected by work colleagues.
