About Steven Mozarowski:
I am a well-rounded and adaptable archaeobotanist currently working as a field archaeologist. I have spent 7 years working as an archaeological team member and supervisor throughout England, Canada and the United States.
As an archaeobotanist, I am passionate about exploring the relationships between plants and humans throughout ancient and recent history. Through my BSc, I obtained a double major in Botany and archaeology. This lead me to completing a MSc in Archaeological Science (archaeobotany) as the graduate with the highest standing. During this time I excelled at analyzing and collect data, programing AI models and teaching students.
I am searching for opportunities to further develop and apply my knowledge of plants as foods and medicines throughout history
Experience
I currently work as a professional field archaeologist. I spent 5 years in this role in Canada before moving to England where I am entering my 3rd year. Throughout this experience I learned to instruct new comers, use GIS, write reports and excel at working in a team environment
Education
I most recently completed a MSc in Archaeological Science (Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Canada) focusing on archaeobotany in May 2023. During this course I wrote a thesis on a method using AI to identify starch residues from artifacts that would have been used to process plants and medicines in deep history. I graduated this program as the student with the highest standing in the department
