Experience
delivers across the Bromley Borough: I have been a fulltime employee as Criminal Justice Recovery
Coordinator. I have been collaborating and partnership working with, Orpington Probation, Custody
suites, DIP Referrals, Magistrate Courts and HMP Custody. Bromley has a strategies plan to bring as many
individuals as possible who require support into treatment. This is to reduce their offending behaviour
and support and rehabilitate them back into the community safely and reducing the crime rates and
statistics across the borough and support service users to address their substance misuse issues which
is entwined with their offending behaviour.
My duties include:
Recording and attending to DIP appointments and reporting back to Police Custody suites.
ATR or DRR from referral all the way to successful completion or breaching the community order.
Communicating and informing probation officers and offender managers with the progress of client and
their community order.
Partnership working with other Professionals across the borough and building professional relationships.
Safeguarding, both children and vulnerable adults, writing reports, attending conferences and core
meetings.
Managing a caseload and making sure all notes and contacts are recorded, keeping the clients file up-
to-date and taking clients through the treatment process.
Psychosocial interventions and motivational interviewing, while remaining "Bold, Compassionate and
Open”.
Checking in with clients working towards a reduction plan and recovery goals.
Bringing each client from tier 2 to tier 3 and working towards a successful treatment plan.
Assessing new clients from triage and personalised assessment and which pathway they would be most
suitable for.Updating CRiiS and recording all information relevant and keeping all clients up to date.
Multi-disciplinary team meetings, bringing client to the meeting who need to be discussed around the
treatment option for them.
Liaising with Doctor and Opiate Service users to ensure their needs and requirements are met, and they
maintain a good stabilization on their opiate substitute medication.
Maintaining clients’ prescriptions and liaising with Pharmacy's
Facilitating PODS (DRR, Opiates, Cocaine & Alcohol) Working from the evidence-based recovery material.
Delivering RAR interventions granted by the court system.
Recording All information and contact on CRIIS including relevant documents.
Telephone Calls/Reception duties and informing the relevant person and recording the information by
email and recording on CRiiS
Writing reports to the court from the referred ATR/DRR Assessments.
Drug Testing the opiate clients to manage risk of their opiate usage.
Needle Exchange, reducing the risk of infection and making sure there are injecting safely. (Bringing
them into Treatment)
Triage Assessments, carrying out assessments and bring Bromley residents into treatment, capturing all
the information by showing professional curiosity and the pathways.
Supporting the services users to achieve their goals, and using the resources available for the service
users benefit.
Home visits for the more complex service users, this is mainly to manage risk or for client who can’t
access treatment in person. This is usually accompanied by another employee.
Dropping Prescriptions at pharmacy for Opiate clients who are stable and attend appointments and
interventions regally.
Safeguarding, showing professional curiosity, and asking about what is going on for them at home. We
are all responsible for safeguarding and following through the CIN Or Child protection Plans and writing
reports and supporting the service user to identify the impacts of substance misuse and being a parent
and their ability to carry out parenting task daily.
DIP from Custody and booking appointments and carrying out the RA3 and RA1
Supporting Service Users by using psychosocial and harm reduction techniques to identify the issue.
Involvement with LGBTQ+ Community and being the Equity and Diversity advocate.
Caseload management attending to my caseload and making sure all information is current and up to
date.
Multi-disciplinary meeting with our colleagues at CGL Bromley to discuss plan of action and support for
the service users support and treatment.
Multi- agency meetings when working with other agencies across the Borough.
HMP Custody Releases booking appointments for our onsite doctor and assessments upon their release
and bringing them into treatment into the community.
HMP In reach, attending custody and delivering interventions in a group setting for the service users
returning to the Bromley Borough.
My role as Criminal Justice Recovery Coordinator has been a wide range of duties. I currently work with
all clients with every substance, my role is Criminal Justice and National Probation Service Focused. I
have a good working relationship across Bromley Borough and do a lot of interventions in Bromley and
Orpington Probation offices and across the borough to support outside agencies and the service users.
