About Suhani Jeshani :

I am an enthusiastic and logical individual who takes immense pride in being organised and paying particular attention to detail as practiced in my role as a teaching assistance and working with children. I am not a stranger to hard work both on my own and in a team, am self-motivated, whilst always maintaining a positive and professional attitude by happily taking on additional projects and responsibilities. However, for me it does not stop there as I am always striving to be a better person both personally and professionally and am willing to undertake any training to enhance my skills as well as maintaining a high level of flexibility in order to achieve this.

I implemented these skills into my voluntary work for Victim Support in North London, which I initially joined as a student placement and then stayed on as an enhanced volunteer. At Victim Support, I communicated effectively with my colleagues about clients and provided relevant information for them to make appropriate decisions. Such information has to be accurate and compliant with the guidelines of the charity. Victim Support allowed me to gain first-hand experience in recognising the impact of crime on families as well as individuals.

After having completed my training, I was able to work with clients independently, both in a face-to-face setting and over the phone. I was able to assess their needs in a form of a support plan in a sensitive manner and therefore, was able to provide them with the most effective support or signpost them confidently into getting help specific to their requirements. My ability to be open-minded and appreciate that different cases require different approaches, has enhanced my capability to build a relationship with clients and consequently, provide them with suitable help and advice. I was able to take these skills onto my current job working with the organisation Family Friends.

In my current job, I am able to communicate well amongst all levels of staff and those whom I support, both verbally and in writing tailoring my approach to each individual. This also lends itself to being strictly confidential with the information given by staff and therefore means it is very important to be able to communicate using a high standard of spoken and written English. If for any reason this may not be the case, I am able to be diplomatic and sympathetic to ensure a professional stance is maintained.

I have been in the education field for 4 years and I have managed to learn much within this time including, but not limited to working in a complex environment, in a team with varied ages and abilities, under pressure to prioritise and work to strict deadlines. As mentioned above, any systems I am not currently familiar with, I am more than willing to learn or undertake the training required for this position.

I am currently in the process of undertakinga  CACHE Level 3 Award in Childcare and Education. I have first hand experience with working with young people with multiple disabilities. My younger brother has autism and server learning difficulties. I would like the opportunity to put my experience into practice and develop my skills and knowledge.

Experience

I have been fortunate to have worked in a SEN school. I worked with learners with multiple disabilities and been fortunate to have learnt many different skills. I am currently working as a welfare assistant in a mainstream primary school.
