I am a diligent and hard working professional with over ten years experience of working as an Executive Assistant for a central government department. Having taken a short time away to start my own business in order to work around my family, I am ready to return to the profession. I am a driven and goal orientated individual who strives for success, giving my all to everything I do. I have an extraordinary ability to adapt to new and ever-changing working environments and am well equipped at working under pressure to tight deadlines.
Aside from my Executive Assistant work, I am an avid writer and have published a number of short stories under a pen name. I am also part of an editorial board for an online fiction magazine. Writing and editing is a passion of mine and I would love to incorporate these skills where possible into my professional career.
Experience
I have over ten years experience of working as an Executive Assistant for a central government department. Responsibilities included managing the diary of the Head of Department, organising travel, gathering research for various corporate change programmes being rolled out across the office and minuting stakeholder meetings, following up on action points where necessary. I was the main point of contact for departmental enquiries and was responsible for providing more general administrative support to the wider team. I was also the in-house content creator and publisher for the department website and social media pages.
I am also an avid writer in my spare time, having published a number of short stories under a pen name and am part of an editorial board for an online fiction magazine.
Education
I have a BA (Hons) in Sociology and have undertaken a number of in-house developmental training courses such as learning how to use publishing tools, creative writing and diversity awareness training.
