About Syeda Sabreena Zaman:
I am diligent, proactive, and ambitious individual who always strives to give her best. This is reflected on my past academic results. I have obtained Distinction and the highest grade in the cohort in my MSc at the University of Liverpool. I was also awarded merit scholarship covering my full tuition fees to complete my MSc degree. I completed my BBA in Finance with a CGPA of 3.92 (Summa cum Laude) from East West University, Bangladesh. I was on the Dean’s List for three consecutive years and received merit scholarship covering my full tuition fees to complete my BBA degree. I am very passionate about my research, which lies in the intersection between GVCs and CSR. As mentioned above, I have presented my research at both national (AIB UK&I in 2022) and international conferences (AIB Annual Meeting in 2023), selected based on double-blinded peer-reviewed process. Furthermore, I have received the Best Poster prize at the annual Henley Doctoral Research Conference in 2021.
Experience
As an Associate Lecturer in International Business, I have organised, taught, assessed, and supported International Business and Management modules at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. My teaching experience includes conducting seminars, tutorials and workshops both in large and small groups. Over the last three years, my teaching scores have been consistently above 4 (on a scale of 1 to 5) in the student evaluation report. This reflects my knowledge appropriateness, passion for teaching and enthusiasm to contribute in developing student satisfaction. I make a conscious effort to embed equality, diversity and inclusion within own teaching to ensure all the students have an equal opportunity to reach their potential. Furthermore, I believe that the fundamental aspect of quality teaching and student learning is through the development of a positive student teacher relationship. In support, I give my best to be available whenever and wherever possible, either face-to-face during consultation hours or virtually through emails and video conference platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom, Google Meet etc. so that my students feel that I respect and care for their development.
Education
I am currently in the final year of a PhD in International Business and Strategy at the University of Reading and aiming to complete by the Summer of 2024. I am also working Part time as an Associate Lecturer at the Henley Business School, University of Reading.
