Experience

As a multi-skilled nurse and surgical first assistant, I have developed clinical expertise across various specialties, including complex orthopaedics Incl spinal and neurosurgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, obstetrics, general endoscopic surgeries, urology, plastics and paediatrics. This diverse experience has provided insight into the functioning of the operating theatre, enabling me to address challenges and implement solutions. My skills in anaesthetic and recovery, scrub, and surgical assistance ensure effective support for the theatre team throughout the surgical process. My leadership experience includes managing theatre departments and teams. For instance, as Lead Orthopaedic Sister at Spire Little Aston Hospital, I reduced turnaround times and increased case throughput by optimising resource management and staffing. A significant aspect of my role involves education and development. I have provided training to students and staff on advanced surgical techniques, best practices, and patient safety protocols. I specialise in creating and delivering training programs that enable staff to assist in complex surgical procedures and promote continuous learning. My ability to establish strong working relationships with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams supports a collaborative and efficient working environment.
