I have worked in Costume departments for Film and TV productions for the past 14 years.

As an assistant costume designer, I work closely with designers, liaising with vendors, suppliers and other departments within the production while supervising the costume workroom.

Daily duties and responsibilities include:

·       Building rapports with directors, actors, different head of departments, vendors and suppliers.

·       Scheduling meetings with directors, producers, actors and taking detailed notes.

·       Research and development for characters and groups.

·       Organising travel arrangements.

·       Reading and breaking down scripts and schedules.

·       Organising and attending fittings - taking measurements and alteration notes – following up with the tailors responsible.

·       Managing the schedule and workflow for the workroom – tailors, aging, leather, model making, printing and concept artists.

·       Selecting stock and samples from costume rental houses.

·       Co-ordinating the purchase of fabric and trims from local and international suppliers.

·       Liaising with vendors regarding samples sent, costumes required and deadlines.

·       Organising fabric, trims, sketches and prototypes to be sent to vendors.

·       Liaising with the truck supervisors and stand-bys regarding new cast costumes to be established.

·       Dressing and coordinating garments for promotional materials.

·       On set to establish new cast costumes and new groups of extras.
