I am a self-taught front end web developer, making a career transition into the tech industry. I started coding in 2022 and have been eagerly developing my skills ever since. I have completed multiple web development projects which can be found on my website. The technologies I use have included React, JavaScript, CSS, Sass, HTML, Redux, JSON, RESTful APIs, AXIOS, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

My most recent project ‘Reddit Mini’ is a pared-back recreation of Reddit. This project is front-end-focused, using Reddit’s unofficial JSON API which allows you to make requests for read-only Reddit data directly from the browser. The main technologies I used were React, Redux, Sass, and React routing.

I have a background in art and design, and experience in the film industry as well as in retail merchandising. I have cultivated a unique blend of skills, and have honed both my technical proficiency and a personable, collaborative approach.

After earning a BA (Hons) at the University of Edinburgh, I started working in film on major Disney and Marvel productions. In this industry I cultivated skills in creative problem-solving, attention to detail, and a great deal of patience. It also helped me develop resilience working under intense pressure, and the invaluable skill of efficient time management.

In 2022, I began working at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. As merchandising assistant it was my responsibility to manage stock and support our online shop. I was working across multiple digital platforms, namely Magento, Shopify, and Galaxy, and used software such as Counterpoint and Oracle. My work with our online shop strengthened my resolve to work with digital products and technologies. Eager to expand my skill set, I started learning to code with Harvard’s CS50 course and then focused on front-end development through Codecademy. I committed myself to gaining these skills while maintaining my employment at the Ashmolean and at St Clare's Oxford, where I work as a library assistant.

My diverse background in art and design, coupled with commercial experience has equipped me with valuable skills. I've developed a keen eye for detail, honed organisational skills, and cultivated a strong commitment to delivering excellence.

In summary, I bring a unique blend of technical, administrative and design skills, along with a solution-oriented attitude. I believe my enthusiasm for continuous learning and adaptability to new environments positions me as a candidate ready to contribute to your team.
