Tomas John Hankinson Parry

Tomás is currently studying Level 3 Applied Science in Coleg Menai. Currently looking for experience and possible opportunities to further his aspiration of becoming a lab technician in education, teaching children and young adults science in the fun of practical work in a safe manner.

Tomás’s interests include Haematology, and Pharmacology (specifically how narcotics and recreational drugs affect the body and its systems)

Tomás’s hobbies are drumming, enjoying the multitasking aspect of learning a new song and he also likes video games which challenge his coordination and decision making skills.

Currently getting work experience from the Coleg Menai Science Lab Technician 

Skills learnt from the college work experience 

• Use of a autoclave
• Health and Safety procedures
• Knowledge of lab equipment
• How to clean after microbiology
• Small amount of soldering work
• Set up hardware for a class practical
• Cleaning after a class

John Parry Joinery

Duration - 2 weeks 

Assisted the business owner with joinery related responsibilities

• Use of woodworking tools such as a pillar drill, guillotine, chisels etc
• Transportation of finished goods

Anglesey Archives

Duration - 1 Week

Activities -

• Preservation of sensitive documents
• Set up exhibits that display documents and photos from chosen historical events/time periods
• Assist customers with record searches
