Hi,

I'm a UK based Turkish journalist, researcher, translator, editor and media professional. Since graduating in journalism from the University of Istanbul, my articles, translations and interviews have been published in various magazines and newspapers. Since moving to the UK, my clients included Independent, BBC and Channel 4 and I've been tutoring in German and in Turkish too.

Currently, I’m working for Taboola News as Content Editor for the UK, Turkey and Germany. I’m responsible of overseeing content management for various news and lock screen widgets for different Android brands in German, Turkish and British markets. I research, proofread, translate, edit and curate multimedia content tailored to publisher’s requirements.

I have lots of experience in translating, editing, writing and researching. Therefore, I can confidently say that I have great communication skills and I’m able to deliver my tasks perfectly on time, in a fast-paced environment.

Researcher/Translator I World’s Deadliest Weather, BBC Earth I back2back productions, UK I January 2022 - April 2022 and October 2024 - January 2025
- Took full editorial ownership of the stories I got hired to work on: located and contacted survivors (in Turkey and in Germany), arranged and conducted interviews, translated and subtitled all materials (German, English, Turkish), sourced supporting footage, and secured all necessary permissions. Worked closely with Producer Nigel Gainsborough and Claire Smith.
Journalist I Gazete Duvar, Istanbul, Turkey I December 2016 - 2021
- Started as an intern at the online Turkish newspaper Gazete Duvar’s Arts and Culture department, I became an employee and gained experience in the departments of World News and Local News. I worked as an editor, translator (did translations between the languages of Turkish, English and German), and journalist with my own work being published regularly. After moving to the UK, I remained a regular contributor to the newspaper until 2022.
