Vedika Kushalappa

My design journey began in the fast-paced advertising industry at Yoke Communications, where I worked with clients across fitness, food & beverage, and beauty sectors. I developed creative campaigns, social media graphics, and visual identities that translated complex brand stories into engaging visuals. This experience honed my ability to adapt design language across different audiences and industries.

Beyond agency work, I’ve spent the past five years freelancing as a Graphic Designer and Art Director, collaborating with emerging brands and cultural institutions. My work often involves building cohesive brand worlds—from logo creation and social media identity to photography, post-production, and color correction. I also have extensive experience in print design, having produced innovative layouts for books, leaflets, and merchandise, always prioritising both form and function.

As the first in-house Graphic Designer at the University of Manchester, I played a key role in uplifting and transforming the university’s graphic identity. I implemented sustainable and efficient design systems to streamline workflows across the marketing department—enhancing collaboration, consistency, and output quality. This experience strengthened my ability to balance creative innovation with strategic communication goals.

Currently, I am working on a design-led publication focused on wetland conservation, weaving together research, photography, and environmental data to create a visually engaging and informative outcome. This project reflects my commitment to using design as a tool for education, connection, and positive impact.

I graduated from the Royal College of Art, with an MA in Information Experience Design, where I focus on refining, expanding, and grounding in my practice as a creative, using visual design for good. 

For my undergraduate I studied at Parsons School of Design where I double majored in BFA Integrated Design and BA Economics.
