About victoria shaw:

I am looking for a role in clinical research, my degree in biomedical science allowed me to sturdy drug design and it was here my interest was peeked. Graduating during covid and having to support a family was difficult and I found myself in a full time R&D role or laundry detergent. Whilst I enjoy the job I have I feel that I am missing the Elements of clinical practice I discovered during my degree and wish to find a role that enables me to grow this passion.
I have 2 sons, 9 and 12 years old, I have been married for 14 years. I enjoy being at the beach with my children and my dogs, particularly out on the sea on my paddle board. I recently took up aerial yoga which is great fun and serves as a tool that allows me to get away from that chaos that life brings. We are a very active household with different sports featuring on everyday of the week. making time outside school and work to enjoy life with each other is something I am a big believer in.

Experience

My role varies greatly with daily tasks ranging from coordinating and managing technical testing, proficiency in data analysis and reporting of results, preparing documentation for legal challenges, end to end execution of consumer testing including recruiting participants and ensuring all legal requirements are met (local legislation/GDPR, etc) are met, laboratory management, working in a multi disciplinary team including sales, designers, engineers, finance and others working overseas.

I am a recognised first sided with a level 3 certificate in first aid at work. Additionally. I have recently trained as a team facilitator developing skills to enable project teams to recognise their specific goals and identify the best routes to achieve that goal.

While studying at college I was employed as a healthcare assistant supporting those requiring Palliative care. This was an extremely rewarding job that I took great pride in. It was a terminal diagnosis of a close family member that took me from this role. My hope is to return to clinical work providing hope to those who desperately need treatments for life limiting disease.

Education

I graduated from Northumbria university in 2020 with an accredited first class in Biomedical science. During this time I studies modules in medical biochemistry, haematology, cellular pathology, molecular and cellular biology, laboratory skills, histology,  microbiology, drug design and more.
I found cellular biology, drug design and microbiology the most interesting.

Prior to attending university I studied HE access to healthcare at newcastle College where I received 45/45 distinctions for my work in English literature and language, biology and health care studies.
