Waseem Jerjes

I am a consultant-level family physician and GP Partner in London, with senior roles in clinical leadership, medical education, and research. I work at the interface of complex primary care, patient safety, and workforce development, and currently serve as Professor of Practice (Primary Care) at Imperial College London. My interests include frailty, serious mental illness, advanced polypharmacy, and translating research into safer, high-quality clinical care.

I am a consultant-level family physician and GP Partner with over 15 years’ experience across primary care, surgery, education, and research. I provide autonomous clinical care for complex multimorbidity, frailty, serious mental illness, and advanced polypharmacy within the NHS, alongside an extended procedural practice in minor surgery and musculoskeletal medicine.

Alongside clinical work, I hold senior leadership and educational roles, including Professor of Practice (Primary Care) at Imperial College London, GP Trainer and FY2 Supervisor, and Medical Appraiser for NHS England. I lead research and clinical trials strategy across a large Primary Care Network in collaboration with the NIHR.

I am a research-active clinician with over two decades of academic output, extensive grant leadership, and international publications focused on patient safety, clinical education, polypharmacy, and integrated care. My career bridges frontline clinical practice with system-level improvement, workforce development, and translational research.

I hold a comprehensive academic and clinical education portfolio, including an MBBS in Medicine and postgraduate degrees at Master’s (MSc), Doctoral (MD[Res]), and PhD levels. My training spans clinical medicine, research methodology, and health services scholarship.

I have completed UK specialist training in General Practice, achieving Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), and I am a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). In medical education and leadership, I hold Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA), Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Educators (FAcadMed), and Fellowship of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FFMLM), reflecting advanced expertise in education, assessment, and clinical leadership.
