I am a freelance Therapist and have been trained in a few different modalities; however, my main approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also have a Certificate in Schema Focused Therapy which has been very useful in treating clients with childhood trauma PTSD. 

I have worked independently since August 2020 and have been affiliated with a few organisations, one being The Better Health Generation and First Psychology Ltd.

I am really passionate about helping people find themselves, giving those seeking help a chance to develop healthier coping strategies and rebuilding their lives and seeing a clearer way forward with regards to their mental health. Having good mental health is so important to maintaining employment, family/relationships and a social life, and this is all we really want.

For those who are open to trying something different, I also incorporate guided mindfulness meditation into my appointments if clients are willing to try this. It's a great way to switch off, destress and empty your mind. For those who struggle with anxiety and overthinking, it's a great way to train your brain to focus on breathing and just listening to my voice.

Experience

After graduating I set up my own Therapy business which is called Wendy Pezzani Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. You can find me on the Counselling Directory if you wish to read more about me. 

I then decided to apply as a Counsellor with The Better Health Generation (TBHG) I worked on their employment assistant programme, supporting employees dealing with issues like stress at work, anxiety and depression.

After working with TBHG for a time, I applied to work for a Scottish based organisation as a freelance CBT Therapist. I was based in Glasgow and Perth. This was a great job and I learned a lot from them and had a diverse amount of clients from all walks of life and range of psychological issues.

I currently still work from home seeing clients either in person or online.

Education

I have a Counselling Skills Certificate, Post Graduate Diploma in CBT and Group Work, Schema Focused Therapy Certificate and a Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnotherapy.
