About William McCracken:
I am a graduate currently looking for a job in Woodland management. I have 2 diplomas in Forestry and Arboriculture and Countryside Management. I also have a degree in Environmental Systems Management with a 2.1. I know a wide range of deciduous and coniferous trees within the UK and I know a wide range of common and scientific names for UK trees. I am punctual and reliable and I always turn up on time. If there is somewhere where I need to be I will always be there. I really love being with people and working as part of a team.
Experience
I have 2 diplomas in Forestry and Arboriculture and Countryside Management. I have a full driving license and an NPTC ticket in Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting. I really enjoy working with people and being part of a team. I am punctual and reliable and I always turn up on time. If there is somewhere where I need to be I will always be there. I have a wide range of knowledge on habitat management and improving water quality to improve biodiversity of native flora and fauna. I am always open to hear about what I can to be improve and want to be the best employee that I can. I have a wide range of knowledge on dead, dangerous and diseased trees and I know when a tree or an area of woodland is in an unhealthy or in an unsafe condition. I have a wide range of knowledge of health and safety and risk assessments and what to include in risk assessments. I also know about different bodies of legislation and what comes under them. I know a wide range of tree nursery stock and where they would be suitable for planting. I also know the advantages and limitations of different nursery stock type and how to plant them. I know when trees are suitable for felling and coppicing and how it would benefit the health of the woodland in the long term. I know a wide range of invasive species, their appearance, how to control them and the impact they have on native flora and fauna. I have undertaken voluntary work with organizations including Staffordshire County Council, Arbour Tree Farm in Cheadle and Burton Conservation volunteers. I have a full driving license and I have an NPTC ticket in Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting (CS30). I have also undertaken tasks in estate skills including bollard repairing, fencing, hedge laying and tree planting. I have good communication skills and I would be great at sharing my ideas with other people at meetings. I am independent minded and I would be happy to work alone whenever I am required to.
