Zachary Patris

My name is Zachary Patris and I am currently seeking an opportunity to challenge myself professionally and that matches my expertise. I am a native French and English speaker, and a qualified specialised translator, with experience utilising my language skills in a working environment.

As a specialised translator (legal translation, technical translation, audiovisual translation, economic translation, scientific translation, etc.), I have an excellent command of French, English and Spanish and a track record of impeccable proofreading, editing and translating. Combining my academic background of literature, linguistics and European studies with my translation skills, I believe I can quickly take up various skills and adjust to different fields of work. 

As a matter of fact, I studied and followed courses in economics, European Union law and film studies, among others. I therefore feel confident that I would be able to adapt and thrive in various fields as I have always done so previously. 

I am comfortable with technology and with using my language skills, both in oral and written communication. Furthermore, I have grown accustomed to hard work through my sporting background and I enjoy setting myself goals and challenges. As a dynamic and ambitious person, I look forward to dedicating my time to my professional career as I once did in my sporting career and studies.

As far as my translating experience is concerned, I am very accustomed to translating legal documents, as well as technical, economic and scientific matters. Having specialised in audiovisual translation, I have subtitled many sitcom episodes, documentaries, short films, movies, etc.

I am also comfortable utilising my language skills, whether that be in order to interpret or to translate.

Having completed numerous translation projects, I am very comfortable with project management as well as computer-related matters. 

I believe I am also capable of editing, proofreading and writing at a high-level. 

Finally, seeing as translation is very much a deadline-oriented field, I am used to working under a considerable amount of pressure.
