Zarina Yaqoob-Hussain

I am a qualified BTEC and A-Level Business Teacher at Stockton-Riverside College, which is situated in the North East of England. I have been teaching for 3 years now and have been able to develop my teaching strategies and resources to support different types of learners. I have always wanted to get into teaching, as it is my passion to share my knowledge with people and help them find their passion and develop their skills. 

I have worked in the business sector prior to becoming a teacher, I have strong business acumen and work ethic which make me reliable and accountable. I have always been able to use my skills as a mentor for my colleagues due to my experience in the business sector. However, my knowledge it not only restricted to Business, advanced IT skill and have taught Travel and Tourism and Aviation. This supports the development of my knowledge helps me to support learners with future choices. 

I am passionate about teaching and working as a team, as when I am teaching I feel as if I am inspiring my learners and to be the best they can. As well as, working as a team, my current team at Stockton Riverside College is like my work family, I would like to say I look after them and support their development and in-turn they support mine. 

I am currently working at Stockton Riverside College where I teach Business as well as, IT, Travel and Tourism and Aviation. I have worked at Stockton Riverside college for 3 years. I have had the opportunity to develop my skills and strategies implements in the classroom, as well as, the tools I use whilst delivering my lessons. I manage learners targets and support differentiation within the class room to allow all learners to work at a pace and level that is best for them. Throughout the year I develop my resources with up to date strategies, pedagogy and meta-cognition. 

I have acquired 2 degrees both from Teesside University in the UK. 

My first degree was a Bachelors with Honours in Business Management.

My second degree was a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Level 7) PGCE
