A journalist of more than 25 years with several years experience working in a leading Newcastle PR agency.

Previous roles include editor of three magazines and numerous motorsport print publications, along with motorsport media and PR management.

15 years full-time in regional and local news, as news reporter and features/lifestyle writer.

I also spent five years as Motorcycle Racing writer for Reach plc titles Daily Mirror, Daily Star and Daily Express.

I have extensive PR experience in motorsport, consumer and business arenas.

Education

I believe the most relevant education was qualifying as an NCTJ Senior Journalist in 1999.

This followed a pre-entry exam following a course at Darlington College of Technology and came after  over two years working as a Junior Reporter at the Sunderland Echo and is part of the training element to becoming a journalist.

This was a very important examination as it covered law, public affairs and all of the vital elements needed to be a journalist and is still regarded a benchmark for journalism standards.
