Zulal Sonmez

I am looking for joy in everything I do. 

I worked as a junior doctor starting in 2019, in the NHS, and continued until March 2022. I immensely enjoyed working as a part of a team and  found great joy in the patient contact, as I love and excel at verbal and written communication with an empathetic approach. Through Junior doctor Foundation programme training rotations and having had the chance to work in different hospitals in the UK, I worked within different teams on a regular basis with a wide variety of professionals including doctors, nurses, dietitians, ward managers, social workers, physiotherapists. With the fast paced nature of my profession and dealing with ever changing responsibilities of a junior doctor on a day to day basis, I gained confidence to be able to cope under high stress environments with a sense of professionalism and integrity. 

I am currently looking to make a career transition, despite having enjoyed working as a doctor. I feel drawn to work in medical communications sector as I believe, this career path suits my personality and allows me to continue to serve the community within healthcare. 

Prior to starting work as a junior doctor in the UK, I studied Medicine and Surgery in University of Milan between 2013 - 2019. 

I went to International school of Luxembourg and completed the IB Diploma, studying biology, chemistry and economics at high level as well as French, English and Maths at standard level.
