Research Experience

Bio-chemical engineering Department

1. Research experience in water and waste water streams/effluents treatment from                          different contaminants such as dyes, organic materials and heavy metals.

2. Bio-synthesis of biopolymers, biofuels and bio-proteins using cultivation media of different microorganisms such as fungi, yeast, bacteria and enzymes.

3. Technical experience with sample preparation for analysis, evaluation of liquor samples, including viscosity and colour, color matching and corrections.

4. Cover the day-to-day instrument operations of calibration, analysis, process, calculate and check analytical results, prepare bench scales and pilot projects.

5. Collecting, interpreting, and recording the experimental data during research activities, ensuring compliance with lab protocols.

6. Engaging familiarly with photo spectrophotometers devices such as (UV), (IR) (FTIR), (XRD), (XRF), surface properties for powdery material such as surface area, TGA and SEM.

7. Deep Investigation of water samples properties such as Turbidity, PH, conductivity, dissolved organic carbon test (DOC), total inorganic carbon compounds (TOC), chemical oxygen demand (COD).

8. Maintaining and operating of lab devices and equipment.

Membrane synthesis technology/ Australia/ 2014-2015

1. Experimental experience in synthesis of micro/Nano filtration membranes for water treatment applications.

2. Preparation and synthesis of metal organic frameworks (MOF).

3. Surface properties for powdery material such XRD, TGA, SEM and SA.

4. Analysis of engineering mathematical models using regression analysis softwares of Statistica, excel, mini-tab and Design of expert (DOE).

Teaching Experience

Lecturer/ Bio-chemical engineering Department

University Of Baghdad / Iraq / March 2012 – February 2022

1. Teaching of academic English language for undergraduate and post graduate students.

2. Teaching of further Math and research methodology for post graduate student.

3. Oversee UG and PG students on different research projects, maintaining records on assignment completion and acting as liaison/mediator between the students and the faculty researcher.

4. An engineering teaching experience for UG students in Mathematics, Heat transfer, Mass transfer, Thermodynamics, Fluid flow, Equipment design, Material and Biomaterial engineering properties, Units operations with lab experiments, Biochemical engineering industries with lab experiments, Numerical and optimization, Physical chemistry and Computer applications utilizing Microsoft office and simulation using Ansys software.

5. Design and layout various equipment of heat exchanging units of shell and tube, air cooled, double pipe and plate-frame heat exchangers, re-boilers by relying on the process operating conditions, design of atmospheric and vacuum distillation columns with specified trays as well as reactors of CSTR and PFTR in addition to liquid and gas vessel separators.

Industrial Experience

Chemical process engineer                   Iraq/Baiji/ July 2003- January 2006

1. Excellent practical and operational experience in chemicals production company at middles east (ARADET) including extraction of BTX from reformate and separation of light cuts from BTX using atmospheric and vacuum distillation units, as well as thermal hydro de-alkylation of xylenes for Benzene and Toluene conversion by the using of high pressure hydrogen.

2. Extremely dealt with operating and maintaining of various operational units and equipment such as hydrogen gas compressors, different types of heat exchangers including shell and tubes heat exchangers, air cooled and double pipe heat exchangers, different pumps of centrifugal and reciprocating positive displacement. Extractor towers and solvents loading, hydrogen and liquid reactors, atmospheric and vacuum distillation columns, strippers, furnaces, settling vessels, and steam generation unites.

3. Conducted many operational activities of cold, hot, short and long circulation depending on the operational circumstances of hydrogen gas at normal pressure and cut off conditions. 

QUALIFICATIONS

M.Sc in Chemical Engineering from overses/ has been Officially assessed/ certified by Enic- Ecctis to match the Master's degree qualifications in Chemical Engineering from the United Kingdom RQF level 7/ SCQF level 11/ CQFW level 7, according to the  UK ENIC reference number as clearly shown in the Ecctis statement of comparability.
