Mechanical Supervisor - Port Glasgow - Matchtech

This is an onsite, permanent mechanical engineering position where you will lead and supervise a multiskilled team to ensure all activities are completed on time and to a high standard.

The role requires candidates with shipbuilding experience and previous supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installing main machinery on new build vessels
2. Reading and understanding technical drawings
3. Setting up and aligning shafts, thrusters, rudders, gearboxes, pumps and commissioning mechanical equipment
4. Optimising labour utilisation by setting work for the team to meet delivery schedules
5. Providing technical guidance to the team and identifying process improvements
6. Updating relevant documents including progress registers, log books, accident reports, training records, performance logs, and attendance records

Job Requirements:

1. Educated to HNC level in a related subject such as mechanical engineering or a similar field
2. Supervisory experience in an industrial environment preferably in marine or shipbuilding
3. Proficient in IT skills especially Microsoft Office applications

Salary & Benefits:

£43,656 plus 30% night shift allowance
