We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Controls Manager to join our project in the Southwest where we are a delivery partner on a key infrastructure project.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in one of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK today, where you will ensure the provision of the highest quality project controls support covering estimating, planning, cost engineering and risk analysis.


Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of all Project Controls resources deployed on the project including Planning, Estimating, Cost Management, Risk Management, Reporting and Change Control
  • Support the relevant stakeholders in achieving their deliverables
  • Report on all matters relating to the provision of a Project Controls Management function
  • Work closely with the Project Management Team and all other functions to ensure delivery of the highest quality Project Controls support to satisfy the client and all associated stakeholders
  • Liaise with the Project Management team to ensure all Project Controls activities are completed in line with Client requirements
  • Assist the Project Manager with Project strategy development, implementation and mitigation actions where required
  • Provide Monthly Reports that include accurate status, progress summary text, accurate assessment of Accruals, progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Support and advise Project Management Office on the definition of Project Controls and Earned Value Management systems, policies, procedures and the standards required to deliver them
  • Support and review Value of Work Done (VOWD) and reporting requirements and performance relating to Earned Value
  • Variance analysis (both for schedule and cost), with accompanying recovery plans where appropriate, Estimate at Completion (EAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), Key Issues, Key Risks, progress against Key Metrics, progress against Key Milestones, progress against KPIs
  • Manage the Trend analysis and Change Management processes
  • Monitor and control compliance in respect of the projects contractual obligations to Client and subcontractors
  • Ensure that the provision of Project Controls support in the form of Planning, Estimating, Cost Management, Risk Management, Reporting and Change Control is maintained to the highest quality and conforms to the Clients' procedures and standards

About you

  • 10 years' experience in Project Controls and/or Project Management preferably in a highly regulated environment
  • 5 years' experience leading a team in a Project Controls environment
  • Experience of building and maintaining a multidiscipline Project Controls team
  • Experience in project performance analysis and reporting variance analyses SV / CV, trend analysis, change control management in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Degree level/HNC/HND qualification in a Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Qualification in Project Controls
  • Member of relevant Professional Institute
