A member of the Purchasing and Inventory Team, responsible on purchasing various grade materials (mainly metals) & outsourced processing operations (such as machining & heat-treatment).

The role involves working with existing suppliers, identifying new sources for materials / services, negotiation of price & terms, placement of purchase orders, controlling supplier performance / relationships.

Reviewing and validating of Purchase requests through the forecast need system, ensuring best use of current stock before new buys.

Adhering to best practices in line with Reliance policies.

Main duties

Placing MRP requirements on a daily basis
Review of foretasted purchase plans with nominated suppliers
Manage purchase order acknowledgement and confirmation process
Maintain accurate information in ERP system
Produce and review supplier purchase order status reports
Produce supplier Key Performance Indicators
Managing supplier performance & relationships
Provide technical and administrative support to the business for all materials purchasing
Travel to suppliers & customers where required
Reviewing FN requests daily, validating need and ensuring best use of current available stock across the group.
Making suggestions on use of alternative stock, investigating reservations to make use of all available material
