An opportunity has become available for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Southwark to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs.


The role


In this role you will be providing 1 to 1 support for a child with significant needs including Autism and challenging behavioural difficulties.

The child is in Year 5 and requires support in all aspects of attending school.

The role will be four days a week (Tuesday-Friday) starting ASAP. Applicants must have experience of working with children with Autism and high needs.

The child is very active so you must be physically fit and active as there's some chasing around the school that will need to be done.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO on progress reporting.


The school are looking for a confident SEN teaching assistant who has previous experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs or in a care role for young children and is comfortable providing with this level of personal support for a child.


This SEN Teaching Assistant role is offered on a part-time basis until July 2024 and the school need a committed teaching assistant who can provide consistent support for the child.
