We are seeking a proactive and motivated Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant to work within the central finance team in its day-to-day operations and get involved in ad hoc project work.


The important work you will be doing:
As part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you will be expected to:

  • Input and process purchase ledger invoices.
  • Set up and send supplier payments via BACS.
  • Report on cost spend analysis.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review.
  • Staff and Partner expenses review and processing.
  • Input and help with budget setting process.
  • Post recurring accrual and prepayment journals.
  • Provide general support to the Finance and Admin team if and when required.
  • Take ultimate responsibility for the housekeeping of the purchase ledger and ensure it is kept up to date and tidy with all invoices and payments allocated correctly.

The skills and experience you will bring:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an accounts department, or as a stand alone purchase ledger clerk.
  • Must be competent in all processes involved in purchase ledger.
  • Previous experience of Sage 200 would be an advantage but not essential.
  • A good level of understanding of accounts, and be able to work in a small team.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and be analytical, process driven, and able to problem solve.
  • A good level of IT competency using Excel, Outlook, and Sage software.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great time management and organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
