Band 4 Nursing Associate, up to 75 hours per week available

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on Ward 5 at West Cumberland Hospital. We are recruiting a band 4 nursing associate or equivalent on a full time permanent basis. Here you will be a part of a large enthusiastic team, caring for a multitude of patients and conditions.


We are a 30 bedded medical escalation ward caring for patients with a range of acute medical and chronic conditions.


We are open over the busy winter months to help with patient flow and if the ward shuts you may be required to work on other areas as needed.


  • Manage and provide all aspects of patient care.
  • Act in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct.
  • Assist other nurses in the team as necessary.
  • Demonstrate practice based on current advances in nursing practice and research.
  • Comply with infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
  • Comply with responsibility to safeguard adults and children, ensuring attendance at appropriate training.
  • Maintain accurate records of the care given, ensuring accurate data input into computerised systems.
  • Assist in developing an environment that supports the value of nursing care.
  • Liaise and communicate with members of the nursing and multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in the monitoring of standards of care.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of the unit philosophy.
  • Participate in the Trust clinical governance agenda, leading on a benchmark from the Essence of Care initiative.
  • Ensure that the Trust policies and guidelines relevant to the unit are given due consideration.
  • Actively participate in the Trust risk management strategy.
  • Contribute to the Trust patient care and public involvement strategy.
  • Participate in local bed management for appropriate patient care.

Disclosure and Barring Service:

Standard Check:
£18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.


Enhanced Check:
£38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
