Head of Operations
A fantastic opportunity to join the management team of the world's leading manufacturer of wine and Champagne preservation systems.

The role is suited to an experienced Operations Professional, ideally with previous experience in a manufacturing business.

Reporting directly to the MD, this is a broad and senior role at Bermar and will involve the management of a diverse, global network of suppliers as well as overall responsibility for logistics, stock, compliance and a team.

The role is strongly akin to that of a general manager and you will work closely with all departments in the business, so great communication skills and leadership qualities are vital.

At a glance the role will involve the following:

• Development and management of the company's operations & supply chain strategy
• Management of a global network of suppliers
• Overall responsibility for inbound and outbound logistics ensuring customs procedures are followed accurately and that items are received in good order.
• Regular reporting on KPIs for the production and logistics sides of the business
• Ownership of stock and all inventory (to include regular stock takes and accompanying audits)
• Innovation and development of internal processes and software to keep pace with the growth of the business
• Being instrumental in the development of new products, working closely with the company's R&D / management team to successfully bring these new products to market
• Ownership of regulatory, intellectual property and compliance activities (e.g. Patents, Certificates of Conformity)
• Developing and implementing safety guidelines in all areas of the business (risk assessments)
• Leadership of a team of employees to develop their skills and career potential
• Previous experience in a senior level operations role
• Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
• Experience managing a team
• Working experience of relevant software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Sage)
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Creative problemsolving
• A strategic and analytical mind
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
