Job Overview:
- To positively support the Service Director in providing leadership and management to the service.
- To deputise for the function of the Service Director during their absence, while, at all times, supporting the decisions and plans that have been put in place.
- To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as you may from time to time be required to maintain that currency of practice
- To manage the service in accordance with the standards agreed with the service director, the registered provider, legislative requirements, relevant regulations and in line with accepted best practice, and within the financial plans agreed from time to time with the Registered Provider
Location:

Working Hours: 40 hours a week
Role-specific Duties and Responsibilities
You are to ensure the effective running of the day-to-day of all houses, support tasks, and house administration needs of the organisation.
- Ensure the standards of care offered by our staff are delivered to the highest standards, and ensure staff work to best practices.
- Communicate with family members or healthcare professionals as needed to fulfil your role.
- Check that Staff have a good understanding of their role and check that the client's needs are being met. Give recommendations to management of areas of additional training or support that staff may need.
- Maintain oversight of the Client's care plans and risk management plans ensuring they are regularly reviewed (monthly), up to date, and accurate. In particular, ensuring that capacity recording is in place and accurate. Work with the clients to ensure they understand the support we aim to offer and seek their input for areas the client may wish to develop in.
- Support staff in Working with our clients to identify aspirations for use of 121time, recreation, educational, or employment/volunteering opportunities.
- Ensure the health and safety of our clients and staff is being upheld, reporting any issues to your line manager. maintain oversight of the health and safety folders giving recommendations for change and ensuring the annual check is completed, maintain oversight of the fire safety folders, and ensure fire safety checks are being completed and recorded as required. Ensure the fire alarm system is tested in every room and recorded. Conduct fire evacuation (fire drills) plans with clients.
- Maintain full oversight of the daytoday administration of medication, ensure clients have adequate supply, ensure staff are aware and adhering to best practices and that near misses or medication errors are being reported and recorded, complete medication audits, and file
Working with Others:
- Develop effective working relationships with all employees within the service
- Work in cooperation with members of the multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for people in the service

Personal and Professional Development:
- Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management
- Be registered with the relevant body and work within the Code of Conduct
- Obtain the relevant qualifications required to work in the deputising role, e.g. management qualification commensurate with the role
Specific Requirements for Qualifications
Good English - written and verbal
Leadership and Management Level 5 in social care/the equivalent
Supervisory or management qualification commensurate with the role
Specific Requirement for Skills
Proficient Written Skills
Maintain all support plan/care records in accordance with the service's policy and audit care records following company policy to ensure compliance
Problem-solving Skills
Team Leaders need to be able to adapt to and address situations quickly. Plan, develop, implement and assess approaches to promote health and well-being, whilst recognising and reporting situations where there might be a need for protection
Promote the effective resolution of team conflicts
Ensure there is always adequate staff with the necessary skills on duty.
Taking the lead responsibility for the development of the staff rota to comply with requirements in terms of numbers and skill mix whilst adhering to a conducive home/work-life balance
Share in the development of the strategic plans of the service
Conduct mock inspections of the service and action plan for the shortfalls identified
Communication Skills
To share in the coordination and chairing of staff, service user and relative meetings, as well as attending management meetings
