The Farm
Situated on the edge of Sherborne, Dorset, walking distance to the shops, restaurants and pubs. The local school are excellent and very close to the farm.

We are an excellent 250 cow Dorset dairy and arable farm with 200 acres of wheat and barley and 100 acres of maize.

We rear all of our replacements. We have a great, long-standing team at Blackmarsh Farm which is stable and work well together.

We are replacing a talented individual who has gone travelling so we are looking for someone who will fill their role and fit in with and work alongside all of us.

Blackmarsh Farm is a diversified business with a shop, a café, an outdoor play area, and a seasonal maize maze.

We also have a cut flower farm on site and we hold occasional events such as weddings and parties.


The Role
Full time position required.

The salary will be a basic of £22,00 per annum based on the real living wage, up to £35,000 per annum including overtime, depending on the applicant.

We do not have any accommodation available at the moment.

We will require the successful applicant to share the dairy feeding role with our lead tractor driver.

You will also help with feeding the young stock though the winter and we all pull together when it comes to things like TB testing.

You will help with our grassland and arable management and assist with our young stock rearing. We are looking to replace our spay operator at some point, so training will be available if necessary.

Summer routines are more tractor based, with silage and arable roles taking priority. We also work closely with another family farm, sharing roles where needed.

General farm work such as fencing and repairing equipment and buildings are also required. This list of roles is not exhaustive.

We are looking for an individual with enthusiasm for the role and with the desire to work in a team at Blackmarsh Farm.

The applicant must be able to work independently and think for themselves as well as work within our well-established team.

Although experience is very helpful and preferred, we are seeking a person with a passion for the role.

There may be part-time roles for a partner in one of the other onsite businesses.
