An opportunity for a Technical Manager to join an award-winning and established food manufacturer. The successful employee will become part of an evolving company during an exciting time of growth.

Producing and selling quality specialist dietary food productsto the healthcare sector, you will be joining a passionate business who pride themselves on delivering consistently exceptional quality to their customers.


Reporting to the Head of Operations, this is a pivotal position where you will have the freedom to make the role your own.

The Technical Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • To improve/design, implement processes and or procedures/systems as part of continued improvements to Good Manufacturing Practices to produce safe, legal and quality foods.
  • Working jointly with the General Manager to provide all technical, legal and quality assurance functions for all the products handled and manufactured.
  • Act as the Management Representative for the HACCP based Quality Management System.
  • Organise and manage site visits with external parties
  • Liaising with Sales Team
  • To offer full technical support to external companies.
  • To carry out Internal Auditing
  • Manage the maintenance, development/improvement and implementation of all sections of the Quality Assurance, Quality Management, and HACCP systems to produce safe, legal and quality food and to ensure that the company retains its BRC Higher Level accreditationevery year
  • To monitor legislation and to implement as and when to keep company legal, to liaise with statutory authorities e.g. Environmental Health and Trading Standards
  • To assist with New Product Development
  • To work alongside Head of Operations to maintain and improve systems within technical office and production.
  • To supervise technical office to liaise with customers on all technical matters and to maintain an effective nutritional content tables, ingredient tolerance, allergens and FPS of all products handled by the company
  • BRC annual audit lead including chairperson for monthly inhouse meetings
  • To maintain factory environmental standards and product, process and personnel controls
  • To attend seminars/conferences/ food demonstrations
- tasting/ training courses at various locations in the UK as a representative of the company as and when required to do so.

The successful Technical Manager will possess the following skills:

  • Gravitas, strong communicator
  • Food industry experience in technical or quality role
  • Be a key team player
  • Excellent organisational skills
On offer is a basic salary between £40 - £50,000.
