Part Time Support Worker Waking Nights

Calne, Wiltshire

Permanent Part Time job, 3 nights per week (30 hours)

Pay £11.75 ph (23,000 pa pro rata) plus brilliant benefits, including health cash plan

Delivering support with a difference. That's when it hits home.
This is a perfect part time nights job as a support worker. Working between the hours of 9pm and 7am this is the perfect job for you.

We support our customer (let's call him J) who has complex needs, including a learning disability, autism, communication challenges, as well as sensory needs.

J, who is generally a sound and solid sleeper, needs you to be awake during the night time on a just in case basis We really don't anticipate this to be a "challenging" night time role, but never say never, it may take him a little time to get settled into the new home he has just moved into and his new living arrangements.

J recently moved into his first ever adult home of his own, after living with his family elsewhere in the region all his life.

You'll discover that J is super intelligent, gentle and calm, a wonderful yet complex young man, who needs our dedicated and positive team to help him reach his full potential.

J has sensory processing difficulties, is hypersensitive to sound and wears ear defenders to help him manage his sensitivity.

When stressed or anxious, J can occasionally be aggressive or challenge us, and we need you to take the time to get to know him, and be caring, understanding, reassuring and positive.

As our waking night support worker, you'll be part of a small sub team working permanent nights. You'll offer J a first point of call when he needs it.

J needs you to have a gentle nurturing and caring approach to help him settle into this new home and new life and be proud of how you can help him grow.
