We are looking for a
Head of Product to lead the discovery and delivery of a best in class consumer experience, which will drive loyalty and engagement with our content.

This role is responsible for all products that combine to form our core web experience.

This is a key strategic pillar supporting internal, platform and customer facing products and an important enabling team for all of Product and Engineering.


As the Head of Product you will support the rebuilding of our web experience from the ground up based on a new platform and back-end infrastructure, including editorial and consumer facing products, which means that this role will require a mixture of both a hands on approach and strategic delivery.

Role Location


Reporting to the Director of Product Design and Management, you will lead and manage a team of Product Managers and Product owners, whilst working closely with Design, Engineering and stakeholders from across the business as well as third party partners and suppliers.

You will also be responsible for the mentoring and development of direct reports and for creating an environment in which the whole team can grow and be productive.


You will be accountable for the overall roadmap for the product set, product discovery around what is needed to support and grow the platform and services and for making sure the work is planned and ready to work on.

You will also have overall accountability for the success of Web, Content and Platform Products including creating and maintaining vision, strategy, KPIs and roadmaps for the group.

You will be responsible for the assessment, coordination, and prioritisation of work into the various platform workstreams.

Importantly you will understand the makeup of a balanced backlog which addresses optimisation, growth as well as technical/commercial urgency and long term initiatives, striving to innovate and scale our technology opportunities for the future.


Qualifications Skills & Qualifications**- Previous line management experience of 1 or more Product Managers as well as experience of leading teams, coaching and mentoring with the ability to manage complex dependencies across teams

  • A strong influencer and relationship builder who is comfortable presenting at senior levels in an organisation
  • Strong technical background preferably with experience of replatforming or working on infrastructure products/projects
  • Experience of working on B2C/B2B products someone with a strong technical understanding combined with a customer focus
  • Highly experienced in ways of working with Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of the News and/or Publishing sector is desirable but not required
  • Ability to make data informed decisions and clear understanding of how to measure success
