Job description:

A rapidly growing and successful manufacturer are recruiting a Junior Buyer or Buyer to join their team. Applicants need purchasing or supply chain experience, be familiar with MRP/ERP or MS Excel and be an adaptable, self-starter.


Working closely with Procurement Manager and as part of a small purchasing team, the Junior Buyer / Buyer will be given clear a progression route and bespoke training.

This is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional, or a Junior Buyer / Buyer, to advance their career within a supportive and successful environment.

Specific duties of the Junior Buyer / Buyer include:

  • Supplier identification and selection activities
  • benchmarking, sending RFQs etc.
  • Management of the purchase order processes, raising POs, expediting and updating MRP
  • Optimise inventory/stock holdings in response to customer demands and trends
  • Foster collaborative relationships with key suppliers and supply chain partners
  • Support Procurement Manager with process improvements to the function, and escalate supply issues
Junior Buyer / Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience as a Junior Buyer / Buyer, or in a broader supply chain role
  • Experience in the use of business planning tools, MRP/ERP or MS Excel
  • Experience of, or the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers
  • An understanding of stock control techniques
  • Desire to build a progressive career in purchasing / supply chain, and receptive to future training
