Grafton Banks Finance are working with a growing commercial business on the outskirts of Brighton to recruit a Bookkeeper/ Payroller on a full time permanent basis.

Working Hybrid 3 days in office and 2 from home.

Reporting into the Finance Manager and working in a small friendly finance team, your job will be responsible for supporting with business accounting activities.

This includes raising, sending, and paying invoices, reconciling company accounts, processing payroll and chasing late payments. Assisting with administration tasks and on hand to answer any queries raised by staff or external clients. Delivering accounting services to a variety of diverse clients. Working closely with clients to ensure deliverables are accurate and on time. Ensuring month end procedures are up to date and accurate.


Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Bookkeeping
  • Creating and entering journals
  • Bank and other reconciliations
  • Entering supplier invoices
  • Month end procedures making sure all processes are up to date and on time
  • Sales and purchase Ledger management
  • Raising invoices
  • Direct debit collections
  • Payment Runs
  • Credit control
  • Payroll
  • Running payrolls for both company and clients
  • VAT Returns for clients
  • Company secretarial services (eg confirmation statements)
  • Working on management accounts
